Every once in a while, my AP will reboot and it appears to be the result of insufficient PoE+ power. My switch complains with the following when this happens:
<LI-CODE lang="markup">PD Over Current indication.</LI-CODE>
I traced this down to an old configuration change based on a warning the Unleashed UI would issue and more detail is at https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/Access-Points-Indoor-and-Outdoor/Not-enough-electricity-power-provided-with-AP-warning/m-p/21619.

It appears much of the information provided in the URL above is not helpful, at least it wasn’t for me. Also, I’m uncertain when a software update on the APs or switch might have affected this as well, but, in a nutshell, it appears the AP does not honor its forced 802.3at setting as the switch resets the port when the AP draws too much power. In addition, it appears a more recent software update for the AP might have addressed LLDP issues.

If you configured the AP to force 802.3at, reconfigure it to properly use LLDP per https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/Community-and-Online-Support/How-to-put-ZF-R710-in-802-3at-PoE-Mode/m-p/11576. Once I did this my switch shows the R710 properly negotiating PoE+ using LLDP.

Hope this helps someone be less frustrated!

Hello Daniel -

I am having issues with one of my Lennar home access points. It is showing that it is powered on, but nothing else is lit up. I had a similar issue a while back, and someone was able to remote in and help me resolve.

Can you please tell me how to do that? I've been trying to figure that out, but all I can do is reply to previous posts.

It's a little non-obvious compared to other more common online forums, but try clicking on ASK the Pack at the top of the site.
