Anyone Use Smart Roam on an Unleashed Network? Is it in a firware revision? I can't seem to find the option. On Zone Director networks it was always just a checkbox.

on controller based solution,, SMART ROAM was cli based.
on unleashed - CLI is NOT supported as per my knowledge..
as per feature list supported on unleashed as per firmware version 200.2 - smart roam is NOT listed ...

Hi Jason, have you found where this smart roaming feature is in the unleashed administration panel. i to was looking for the check box so my devices can always stay connected to the AP with the strongest signal. thanks!

Folks, is my understanding correct that from the firmware version 200.2, smart roam is not supported. If so, how is smart roaming done in 200.5. I am facing a problem where in 200.1, I set the smart-roam to 4. But after upgrade to 200.5, I am not able to see the smart-roam setting in the CLI. I am also not able to set this value in the 200.5 CLI. Can you please help?

Hi , I cannot found smart-roam in CLI also. And I saw the SmartRoam = Disabled on the CLI status.

Can we get an idea when Ruckus will get SmartRoam working for the Unleashed products? We're having some pretty major issues with clients hanging onto the bad signal for far too long. Unfortunately, there's no date stamp to determine when the doc was written...We have the R510 here.

Note: Some features, including SmartRoamTM and Self-Service Guest Passes, are not currently supported, but are planned for a future release.

Smart-roam is enabled in 200.5.x.x, has to be done by CLI (ssh) per WLAN (SSID) on the master AP.

I don't have a unleashed device at this moment to test however wud b interested to test them out when i have them...
are they similar to whats there in controller commands??

Yes, it had smart roam command .
Under wlan config , type smart-roam . it will enable smart-roam function.

Our firmware is 200.5.10.0.291
and it had smart roam command.

Like this in 200.5. ssh to your current master AP. Configure per SSID.
Start testing conservatively with a roaming factor of 2-3, keep SSID using one frequency only (2.4/5GHz) or AP will switch to 2.4GHz when 5GHz cannot reach.

ruckus(config)# wlan MyWiFi

The WLAN service 'MyWiFi' has been loaded. To save the WLAN service, type 'end' or 'exit'.

ruckus(config-wlan)# smart-roam

Enter the roam factor(1-10) or keep it empty.

ruckus(config-wlan)# smart-roam 5

ruckus(config-wlan)#exit

Expect to se ‘disconnected by [xxxx] from WLAN[yyyy]’ in the log, when the Smart-Roaming function is activated. This you can also find on Ruckus Support.

You can also check out smart roaming feature....not sure it’s in unleashed GUI yet, but it should be in CLI.

Hi Jacky,

While configuring the Smartroam, "Smart-roam" parameter takes values from 1 to 10.
These are called roam factor, and they map to a RSSI value in dB as per the list below:

A client will disconnect if it's signal falls below user definable threshold (Lower RSSI) as per table).
