Well, added features and functions, having controller features on an AP platform, requires more CPU/RAM than our first edition 802.11ac APs have.

See other info, including recommendation to stay with 200.7.10.202.94 if you have these model APs in use today.

https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/3125-ruckus-unleashed-200-8-ga-release-notes

My R510 was upgraded to 200.7 firmware once the Amazon installer came last year. My speeds were as bad as yours. They returned and downgraded to 200.6.10.1.312 and since then i have full speeds when i am closer to it. In parallel i installed my Linksys Velop Mesh router and they are working without any problem . I heard the latest and greatest 200.8 still have performance issues. Or you downgrade to 200.6 or return your APs an buy a different brand. After 1y the company can’t fix the issue, it seems they don’t know it or doesn’t care about it.

I completely agree! It is unbelievable that Ruckus hasn't fixed this blatant performance issue on their flagship AP's. I read in one of the replies that the engineers at Ruckus have a hard time replicating the issue. It is as simple as having a single Unleashed AP and a single client. You'll see right away that you're not getting the internet speed anywhere close to what it should be. In my case, it's between 25% and 50% of the actual internet speed even having a single client. Pretty pathetic... Any $19 AP will surpass my R720 anytime anywhere.

I am disappointed that the move to 200.8.10.3.243 for my 6 R510's will obsolete my R500's rendering them useless. It would have been nice if the R500's could continue to unleash into my network, but maybe without the features in 200.8.x.

Is Ruckus planning on allowing one to upgrade the Wave 2 devices to 200.8.x without completely losing the ability to unleash the older Wave 1 devices into the network?

Or - is there an upgrade path that allows for upgrading R500's to R320/R510?

Thanks!
