    <description>&lt;P&gt;I use linux so no device manager but with minicom the status bar say "Offline".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;No LLDP info about the switch.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do you know where to buy the right cable or a tested alternative?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A factory defaults reset is dangerous?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have no particular configuration on the switch, no VLAN etc.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Many thanks!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;I've upgraded the firmware of our ICX7450-24P (primary image) and after reboot the switch works normally but it is no longer reachable at his IP address.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The serial console&amp;nbsp;shows no signs of life after connecting to it with a&amp;nbsp;Wirenest Console Cable (for use with ICX7250, ICX7450 ICX7750 Switches aftermarket replacement for 50-1000122-01 &lt;A href="https://www.amazon.com/Wirenest-Console-Brocade-ICX7250-Switches/dp/B0BF5Z5X8Z" target="_blank"&gt;https://www.amazon.com/Wirenest-Console-Brocade-ICX7250-Switches/dp/B0BF5Z5X8Z&lt;/A&gt; ) and with a tested USB to serial adapter.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do you have any suggestions for getting the console back?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can a factory defaults reset&amp;nbsp;fix it?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is there a way to start with the secondary image without interacting with the serial console?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Many thanks in advance.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Have you confirmed the console works on another switch? I am not familiar with that cable. If there is no output from console *and* we know the console cable works correctly, the box is likely dead.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the immediate reply.&lt;BR /&gt;We don't have any other switch with the mini-usb connector so we don't know if the cable is good or not.&lt;BR /&gt;We can't find the original cable for purchase.&lt;BR /&gt;The box is functional from a network point of view, the only thing not functioning is the serial connection.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Got it. My hunch would be that the box is likely fine then and the cable may be suspect. Are you seeing the console in device manager and able to get the correct COM port?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If FastIron is actually running, you could trying connecting it to another switch and see if there is information in LLDP neighbor tables. There could be an IP there and you could try telnet/ssh.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;With that said, it may be stuck at bootmon, but very hard to say unless we can get access.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sorry but I missed the button "Load more replies" and had not seen replies.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Yes I agree that is a little bit messy, new models with a USB-C or RJ45 serial console are way better.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;The traffic is passing fine, I suppose too that fastiron is loaded.&lt;BR /&gt;We have some strange effect but at the moment is not so important, I don't know how to detect it without accessing the switch.&lt;BR /&gt;Would you recommend doing a factory reset?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Many thanks in advance&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The only reason I would factory reset would be to have it pull a dhcp address. That would allow you to know the IP address from the dhcp server. Then you could possibly telnet/ssh to it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sorry but in the docs it is not stated that the switch will take an IP address via DHCP,&amp;nbsp;it seems the only way to configure the IP address is via serial console.&lt;BR /&gt;The DHCP request is made on all ports or on the RJ45 management port only?&lt;BR /&gt;If a DHCP request is made I will definitely do a factory default reset.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My exact model is ICX7450-24P.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Many thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;What doc are you looking at? All current code streams will for sure have DHCP client enabled in default configuration and it has been that way as long as I can remember (worked on ICX for 14 years). It should be able to pull one on data and mgmt ports. With that said, 8030 is long unsupported and I have not worked on that code in many years. If your switch is up and running, I would advise trying to get it connected to something with LLDP, so you can find the IP and attempt telnet/SSH. I will see if I can confirm 8030 behavior.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Edit: Safest option is indeed to get the correct console cable&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Very nice! You will need to upgrade to 8080f non-UFI before getting to current code. Wr mem while there and then you can upgrade to any UFI image. 8095s is the recommended code.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
