Firmware version should not matter. We have many networks with mixed versions. There is likely something else going on here. Please open a case and we can help you formally investigate.

I have a question regarding connecting two Ruckus Switches together with different Firmware Versions.

The main ruckus is a 7850-48F running FastIron 08.0.90T233 and the new switch stack which is 2x 8200-48ZP2-E running 10.0.x.

I have connected them together using multiple methods and are unable to get them to communicate or see each other through LLDP but the ports are “up” on both ends.

When connected through a LAG, the ports are blocked by STP but show up. No LLDP information is shown for either device on their respective connected ports.

When connected through just a tagged port, the ports are not blocked by STP and stay up, but still no communication or LLDP information is passed between them.

Could there be a firmware bug on 08.0.90 for LLDP causing no information to show up, and could there be an issue communication wise between these two firmware versions?

Ok. Working on creating a case at the moment. Thank you!
