ICX7850-48FS — Port 1/1/1 Down (Huawei 10G SFP+)

Hi Team,

Port 1/1/1 on the ICX7850-48FS is down. CLI shows “configured speed 10G, actual unknown” with zero counters. It’s tagged to VLAN 800 with VE 800 for routing. I’ve enabled the port, forced 10G/no autoneg, reseated the Huawei 10G SFP+ and fiber, and flipped LC but link remains down

What device or switch is connected on the other end of this link?

Is the remote port (on the other device) showing up or down?

Have you tried using a Ruckus-branded SFP+ instead of the Huawei one?

Is the fiber cable single-mode or multi-mode, and what is the approximate distance between both ends?

Have you checked if the same SFP+ and fiber cable work on another port or switch?

When you run show media eth 1/1/1, does the switch detect the transceiver properly?

Please perform the following troubleshooting steps and share the results:

Check if the port is enabled:

show interfaces eth 1/1/1

(Status should be up.)

Verify transceiver detection:

show media eth 1/1/1

(If it shows unknown, the SFP+ may be unsupported.)

Test with another SFP+ or port:

Try a Ruckus-approved SFP+.

Move the Huawei SFP+ to another known-working port.

Verify the remote side:

Ensure the connected device port is up and set to 10G speed.

Inspect fiber connectivity:

Swap the fiber patch cord or clean the connectors.

Thank you for the quick response, sir. Your note—‘If it shows unknown, the SFP+ may be unsupported’—was spot on. We replaced the SFP+ with a supported module and it’s working. We’ve also configured DHCP, but the Ruckus APs still aren’t connecting
