I am currently configuring a Ruckus ICX 7750 switch and have encountered an issue when attempting to configure Layer 3 IP routing. Specifically, the command ip route returns an "Invalid input" error, suggesting that the routing functionality may not be available.

Could you please confirm whether the Layer 3 IP routing features require an additional license on the ICX 7750? If so, I would appreciate information on the necessary license and the process for obtaining and activating it.

FastIron 08.0.95g
L3 BASE

Greetings!

Kindly ensure that the switch is running on routing code in order to support the ip route command. You can verify this by using the show version command:

If the version shows "SWS", the device is running switching code.
If it shows "SWR", then it is running routing code.

For example, on a lab switch running routing code, the output appears as:

ICX7750-48F Router(config)#show version
Copyright (c) Ruckus Networks, Inc. All rights reserved.
UNIT 1: compiled on Mar 26 2025 at 22:11:14 labeled as SWR10020b_cd1

If your switch is currently running switching code, please upgrade it to routing code to enable routing functionalities.

No additional license is required for basic static routing your issue is that the switch is running switching (SWS) code instead of routing (SWR) code.
