Hello,

Can anyone guide me with 40g as I am configuring with Huawei with dac cable but when I loop it has light and when I insert in Huawei switch it shows incompatible.

Thank you for reaching out to us. From the details shared , looks like you are using a 3rd Party Transceiver with the switch and looks like its a CISCO vendor

Could you please help me with the output of below command. Execute in manager mode.

Hi Dandy,

Adding on to the info shared by my colleague, when working with Multi-vendor systems, it would be bext we use Transceivers or GBICS that are compatible with respective vendor on the platform and also match each other [ GBICS ] interms of specifications.

That way compatibility issues can be overcome.

Hence here would suggest that we use 40G SFPs on either ends that are compatible with respective vendors, and both SFPs match each other interms of specs.

That should help.

Hey,

As i seen the list and as you suggest both ends should be compatible I have Huawei s6720-30C-EI-24S-AC but looping the dac cable it gets enable and light are indicated.

Hi Dandy,

Thank you for sharing that detail, the reason I mentioned that both the ends should be compatible : is as the DAC when connected on 7750 :

ICX7750-48F Router>show media validation

We have the part detected, but the same detection raises the not supported warning.

Hence if we use the GBIC for example : say E40G-QSFP-SR4 [ referred from the document ]
you would need another 40G QSFP SR4 rated transceiver on the Huawei end : and same should be able to form an connection.

as here the bits 40G QSFP SR4 are the specification to be matched on both ends,
and once these are matched : rest of the bits should fall in place, with the GBICs from respective Manufacturers,

Just to know when I loop the same dac cable on both switch it does get on. GBICs I won't be able to find in the Asian market.

The issue here is due to the compatibility :

1/1/48 No OEM Type : 10GE LR 10km ((SFP+))
1/2/1 No CISCO-OEM Type : 40GBASE-Passive Copper 1m (No t supported)

And as the same is a third party cable : we would not be able to guarantee the functioning of the same.
Hence, suggested the solution of GBICs as that could help you over come this compatibility problem.

With respect to availibility of the components, do reach out to our sales team, they should be able to help out on that end.
