when trying to create Virtual Routing interface for vlan I receive this error

You are running the Layer 2 Switching Code:

UNIT 1: compiled on Dec 17 2014 at 18:25:28 labeled as FCXS08010g

You need to load the Layer 3 Routing Code. Image will be named: FCXR.....
Download the latest patch of 8.0.30 (currently 8.0.30q) and give it a shot. Make sure you also upgrade the boot code. So you will need these files:

Boot Code: grz10100.bin

Image: FCXR08030q.bin

You must use routing image, you are currently using switching.
