Hi,

we are using ICX7150 switch for router feature, therefor i had use the below command for using secondary image and reload the switch in the secondary image. but, while i reboot the switch, its up by primary image only.

# boot system flash Secondary yes

Can you please help me to tell us how to set default secondary Flash image.

Hi Bharat

just put in the config like that :

# configure terminal

(conf)# boot system flash secondary

save your configuration

(conf)# write mem

that's it

Hi Bharat,

Please make note that going forward with 8090x code, we recommend having same code on both primary and secondary flash, this is a new limitation with the 8090x code.

Hello,

just to clarify, starting 8.0.80 there is the introduction of Unified FastIron Image (UFI). This is recommended to have both flash with UFI images but not necessary the same type (Switching/Routing) or release.

No limitation here.

Hi Team,

I was configuring ICX7150-24 switch. But I noticed Routing Image was configured on Primary memory and Secondary memory. I have to configure Routing image in secondary and Switching image in Primary. Can you pls help me?

Hi Muhammad,

You cannot jump directly from 08.0.30 to 08.0.95 as the UFI image type is not recognized. You need to have a step on 08.0.80 or 08.0.90 non-UFI version as an intermediate.
