Add T310 to Ruckus Virtual SmartZone Controller

Hi,

I am trying to convert the Ruckus T310 AP to join our managed smartzone controller. I have done this for our R310/R510 numerous times withou any issues but the putty commands don't appear to be the same or work.

I feel it needs a particular software install on it to work but I can't seem to find it or if its even possible!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Luke,

Can you share the screenshot of the command you are executing on this AP CLI and the output of "get version" from this AP.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for reaching out to Ruckus. I am suspecting the T310 AP is on Unleashed version.

Are you seeing any Configure_me SSID when the AP is powered on? If yes, try to connect to the Configure_me open SSID and open any browser on your system, and type "unleashed.rucksuwireless.com" or "192.168.0.1"

If you are able to access the Unleashed setup wizard that means you need to upgrade the T310 AP to any Solo image version e.g 114.x or 110.x version to connect the AP to the controller.

You can download the solo version from the below URL:

You can upgrade the AP from CLI via TFTP/FTP. Below is the KB to upgrade the APs from CLI:

I have tried quite a few commands including:

set scg enable - not recognised

get scg - not recognised

enable - works

ap-mode - works

set scg ip: - not recognised

Yes, it's on Unleashed version. Please upgrade the AP to any Solo version from the below URL:

Luke, the AP is in Unleashed code and hence the difference in CLI pattern. I am adding below an article to convert such Unleash code AP to standalone and second link to download the standalone image that is compatible with SZ.

Are you trying with 200.11.x version? Please upgrade the AP to 104.x version.

Yes I am - I have tried all the versions from T310C D N S and none are working for me.

If I am correct this Master AP T310 has another Member t300 AP connected to it ? If yes can you follow below :

1) Disable member AP T300 (shut that port)

2) Perform F/D on T310 AP and upload standlaone image again.

Luke that CLI format is for Unleashed AP which starts from code 200.x whereas an standalone AP has code 104.x and 110.x

@luke_blundell If you look at the top line of CLI it says "Unleashed CLI". The AP version is Unleashed 200.x and not Standalone 100.x or any other. FYR below is how an standalone AP CLI looks.
