Greetings,

There’s been a lot of build-up as DE/QA announce a significant SmartZone 5.2 (GA).

New features include Native IoT 1.4 support, addition of the R650 and T750 model APs,

DNS Spoofing, Firewall enhancements, increased WLAN inactivity timeout, M510 Mesh

support, multicast/broadcast filtering, and a support license compliance check button,

WPA3, and more.

However, an important problem has arisen for customers with R320 Model APs, and

SmartZone 5.2 GA has been withdrawn, pending a refresh with R320 upgrade issue fixed.

Is there going to be an AP patch for 5.1.2 to allow R650's to work while this is sorted out?

We thought issues were sorted out and SZ 5.2.0.0.699 has been posted to replace SZ 5.2.0.0.685.
Unfortunately, R320 model APs (only) that are rebooted after an SZ 5.2 image is applied can "brick" or
become unaccessable/unrecoverable from SZ version 5.2 (b685) or 5.2 (b699) incorporated AP images.

Please see the Technical Service Bulletin, and new Release Notes / Upgrade Guide, and follow the
below recommendations.

If you have R320 model APs in use, please do NOT upgrade to SZ 5.2 release yet. We are working out
the solution to the issue described above.

1. If you have not upgraded to SZ 5.2 (b685), and do NOT have R320 model APs in use, you can
upgrade to SZ 5.2 (b699).

2. If you have upgraded to SZ 5.2 (b685) and have not rebooted / bricked R320 APs, do not reboot
your other R320 APs, and CONTACT SUPPORT for next step prevention assistance.

3. If you have upgraded to SZ 5.2 (b685) and have bricked R320 APs, RMA is the only recourse. Please
contact Support for RMA assistance.
