ZoneFlex R500 configuration

Hello.
I have a single ZF-R500 AP and I did a factory reset. I can't configure anything except the two eth ports - everything else (including radio channels) is disabled. So,
1. How do I get radios to come on? Is ZoneDirector necessary? Is there a software version of ZD?
2. User manual states that a wizard should start up after reset and login. This does not happen. Firmware is 3.1.1.0.329 (2015), is this feature found in an upgraded firmware? I can't find the hardware version info but it may be 9.10 (901-R500-US500)?
3. Is this device usable as firewall? Modem -- Eth0(egress) -- Eth1(ingress) -- LAN_Hub
4. If NO for 1 & 2, is there a way to configure via SSH command line?

Can someone tell me whether Zone Director is absolutely necessary? Are there any alternatives?

Yeah, I’m a little late in answering this question, but it seems the ap was associated to a zone director. Best to download the standalone firmware and flash it. Then if you want flash it to unleashed firmware.
