T300s Antenna Issue

I have a couple T300s (external antenna) APs along with other T300 models. I've tried a number of antennas and the 5ghz (mesh) signal is consistently worse with the antenna. I've tried changing the power settings up & down on the AP and nothing makes it any better. I finally disconnected the external antennas (yes, they are 5ghz antennas) -but I'm just not getting the signal strength I'd like. Ideas?

Are they Ruckus 5G antennas, ie one of these?

If you have ZoneDirector management, collect a ZD debug with and without the external antennas.

AP neighbor detail info should show RSSI between T300s that can be measured/compared.
