OK, I had to go buy an adapter. Once I got connected to both USB-C and ethernet, I tried again. I was able to get through the step C where I was able to test the connection and received an "alive" ping. However, when I went to Step D "Performing Software Recovery", I got an error after "Loading: *" that the "TFTP server died; starting again". At which point it goes back to the ICX7150-Boot> prompt. Next suggestion?

Hi @gte254r

Thank you for the response and the update.

Apologies, the TFTP part is missing in the guide. We will update it shortly.

Please follow the steps below.

Please download the Upgrade folder and Tftpd64-setup from the mentioned Google Drive link. Install the Tftpd64-setup software and follow the steps below.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DdepOpf6i1csg9lC8BSt6OVGiBqwHJxe

1. Now let’s prepare your TFTP server:

Start>type TFTP>Open

A: Select the path with the folder you have created named Upgrade:

Hit browse>download>Upgrade>OK

B: Select the server interfaces as the IP address you configured for your computer:192.168.0.2

Scroll Server interfaces>choose the one you configured statically on your computer

Note: after configuring the TFTP server Application, this one must remain open during all process.

2. Now that the TFTP application is set up, let’s open Putty/MobaXterm to gain access to the Switch and start the software recovery; however, before opening Putty/MobaXterm, we need to know the COM# your computer has assigned. You are already on the COM CLI screen in MobaXterm.

3. Now start the command execution from step D) Performing Software Recovery:

Please follow the steps and let me know how it goes.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
Imran Sanadi
RUCKUS | Lennar Home Community Support

I think that worked. Lights are all green and I am able to connect to Ruckus. A couple of things to update when you're updating the instructions to include the TFTP stuff. Step D-4 needs to say "update_uboot" not "update boot". Also, guidance on what to do once the reimaging is complete would be helpful. I wasn't sure what to do once it kept saying "TFTP session timed out" (see below). I will let you know if I run into any issues getting all of our devices reconnected. Thanks for your help!

CX7150-Boot>update_uboot
Loading image to Uboot Partition 1
Change GMAC speed to 1000MB
Using bcm_xgs_gmac-0 device
TFTP from server 192.168.0.2; our IP address is 192.168.0.3
Filename 'mnz10115.bin'.
Load address: 0x61007dc0
Loading: ######################################################
         683.6 KiB/s
done
Bytes transferred = 786944 (c0200 hex)
sf erase 0x0 0xc0000
copying uboot image to flash, it will take sometime...
sf write 0x61007fc0 0x0 0xc0000
device 0 offset 0x0, size 0xc0000
TFTP to Flash Done.
ICX7150-Boot>reset
resetting ...
device 0 offset 0x0, size 0xc0000
using GPIO[7] to reset

Ruckus Wireless Bootloader: 10.1.15T225 (Jan 30 2019 - 23:08:47 -0800)

Booted from partition 1
DRAM: Validate Shmoo parameters stored in flash .....

Hi @gte254r

Thank you for the response and the update.

'TFTP session timed out' messages are normal.

The "TFTP session timed out" message appears when the switch attempts to connect to a TFTP server to load the configuration file but does not receive any response. As a result, the session times out.

Additionally, we recommend transitioning to version 08.0.95g, identified as the stable version for Lennar Home users.

To facilitate this transition, we have recently introduced an upgrade tool tailored to ensure a seamless process. Utilizing this tool is straightforward: users simply need to input the IP Address, Username, and password associated with the Switch into the software interface.

For your convenience, please find the necessary resources below:

1. Download the Upgrade software for Windows: Link: Upgrade Software for Windows

2. Download the Upgrade software for MAC: Link: Upgrade Software for MAC

3. Access the Upgrade Software User Manual: Link: Upgrade Tool User Guide for Lennar SmartHome users

We highly value your input and would greatly appreciate your feedback on our upgrade tool. Your insights are instrumental in our ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and ensure the tool meets your needs effectively. Please take a moment to share your thoughts, suggestions, or any issues you encountered while using the tool. Your feedback is invaluable to us and will guide us in further improving the tool for all our users. Thank you for your time and contribution.

Should you require any assistance throughout the process, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Thank you once again for your patience and cooperation.
