      <title>ICX 7150-C12P Unable to hard reset, Unable to perform software recovery</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;Hi,&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;2 Weeks ago he was power fluctuation and the ICX7150-C12P stopped working (meaning struck on boot mode)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;I ran into similar situation multiple times(Once i had to contact the support and we were able to fix, but this time it is different) in the last 3-4 years, but i was able to do hard reset previous occasions.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;This time am unable to fix. I did hard reset for more than 50 times and no luck.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;Unable to perform the software recovery. I'm using Mac and my firewall disabled. From the switch am able to ping the Mac IP, but not the Switch Ipaddr.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;192.168.0.2 -&amp;gt; Assigned to the Switch&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;192.168.0.1 -&amp;gt; My Mac IP(Acts as gateway/tftp server).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="andale mono,times"&gt;Connected the switch to mac using RJ45 cable.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;&lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;MacBook Firewall status&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/U&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw --getglobalstate --getblockall --getallowsigned --getstealthmode&lt;BR /&gt;Firewall is disabled. &lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:18px;"&gt;As per the case description, I&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:#333333;font-size:18px;"&gt;could understand that your Ruckus Switch is stuck in the boot mode.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:#333333;font-size:18px;"&gt;You have tried to perform the reset more than 50 times, the only option left is Software recovery.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:18px;"&gt;We suggest using a Windows laptop, that would be an easy process for performing software recovery.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:18px;"&gt;If you cannot use a Windows laptop, please try getting console access as described in the below link: &lt;STRONG&gt;We have instructions for MAC as well.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes i was able to get to login to the switch using the suggested method.Same u can see in the messages above.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;problem 1) unable to ping local ip which is 192.168.0.2 (it says not alive). Am able to ping 192.168.0.1(which is my macbook - acting as server and tftp server)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) unable to update_primary, update_secobdary,update_uboot fails with loading *&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) when i do reset, it says cant get kernel image.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;all the steps i was doing using macbook and able to get into the console.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Attached some of pics if it helps&lt;/P&gt;</description>
