Need to Shut Off Router

Can I shut off the router temporarily and turn it back on without issues? Can I use a timer to do this?

Sure can, a switch will continue sending packets between internal clients with the router down.

I discovered I can use shielding fabric to reduce EM/RF exposure and obviate the need to disconnect the access point. The issue has been resolved. Thanks.
