Hi All,

I'm not the best with technology so be kind. 🙂 I live in a Lennar smart home. We have a modem, router and then the Ruckus. The Ruckus ICX 7150-C12P has all of these ethernet cords connected to it that run throughout the house to A/C, Ring, Phones, etc. They are about 12 or so.

Anyways, we decided to update our router to an ASUS router. When we did this, I connected up everything the way it was connected to the previous router. When I did this, all devices connected to the Ruckus will not work. Everything that is connected to the Wifi is working fine (like my phone). I called the router company and they told me I need to change my ruckus to be an access point.

I've tried doing a factory reset, but when it loaded back up, it just reconnected to the previous wifi network that doesn't exist anymore. How do I correct this? When the original ruckus was set up we didn't create a login or username.

Thank you so much!

Hi @ janbev27

The ICX7150 is a Switch, its job will be to pass data from your ASUS router to the devices that are connected to it, it will also provide PoE (power over Ethernet to your devices that require this feature such as doorbells, now the ASUS router, must also be connected to the ICX7150 Switch because that is the way all devices will get connectivity.

1:First, make sure that the devices that require PoE are at least getting power even if they are not online.

2:Let me add a diagram of how the connections should go, also how to get access to the switch in case it is not giving PoE, let me add the commands that are required to be executed and what you need to review and change if necessary.

Note:Please read all the guides before you start the troubleshooting.

Note: in this example, I have executed the following commands

"enable" (maybe it's no required, only if you see the symbol >)

check that the Admin State all are as ON, with the Oper State will be on only if there is a device requesting PoE in my example are the ports 1/1/2 and 1/1/3

Note: If y the PoE is disabled, let me add the commands to enable it back.

"interface ethernet 1/1/1 to 1/1/12"
