Not in Solo/Standalone 104.x code, but yes, in Unleashed 200.3 you can use Mesh with just two APs
(one root/Master, one Mesh/Member). Mesh APs may not be the Master AP role.

Thank you, I knew of the unleashed solution, but I was thinking of standalone .. since I do not have the R500, R600, T310 ... Thanks anyway. very friendly

Only if they were running Unleashed, and R730 won't support it until version 200.7 coming early next year...
