My R550 unleashed version is 200.16.7.0.325. I set Country Code: United Stated and Channel Optimization:Optimize for Compatibility.Channel 173 and 177 are not optional ,when shall it be supported?

Recently I upgraded, there is now an R650 in the dining room, and R550 near my office, and an R550 on the side of my garage However, it seems I now have much less range than I did before on 5Ghz. Is this expected? Has anyone noticed something similar?
