CPU at 100% sometimes

Hello all,

is that normal use of our ZoneDirector 3000 ?

We have some bad experiences with our wifi since the past few days and I saw that the CPU is sometimes at 100%, which is not normal on my mind...

Is that the ZD3000 is ok for 229 APs and almost 800 clients ?

Check the uptime and firmware version running on the ZD3000.

9.12.0 is a GA release upgrade ZD3000 to MR release.

That's bizarre. We are running from a 3000 v9.9.0.0 build 216. Today we have a large event with just under 400 hosts across 9 SSIDs. We route all traffic back via the ZD too. My CPU is running at c. 10%. Capture below.

Also, Gupta, should we upgrade to this version ?

Restarting the ZD will be a temporary fix, sooner or later you will see the issue again. You can either upgrade to 9.12.3.0.61 or 9.13.3.0.41 version. Just make sure your AP models are compatible with the version you choose.

I restarted the ZD, but nothing change, still some spikes at 100% CPU.

I tried to download the 9.13.3.0.41 but this is what I get :

That file is only available to Premium Support users.

Should I see with our Ruckus customer... ? 😞 That is frustrating that we can't handle Upgrade by ourself... Grrrrrrrr

Ok it's better now, I did a restart then an uppgrade to our ZD, and this is the graph for the last day.

There is still some spikes and I am wondering if it's really normal... is it ?

However I don't have any spike at 100% like before... and the memory is much lower. (the restart helped, for sure)

Good to hear that upgrade helped!!
These spikes should be fine, as its only 3~4 times in a day and they haven't even crossed 80% of the utilization.

Do you use tunnel-mode ssid?

If you use tunnel-mode ssid, must upgrade to lasteset firmware version.

I had experienced similary issue, and after we had upgrade to latest version, it was stabled.
