Does Ruckus Cloud supports REST API?

I'm looking into the alternative for our existing customer, who is using Cisco Meraki. And one of the use case requires user creation via RESTful API. Is there any programmable way to accomplish that?

Not yet. Let us know what your top use cases are for using the restful APis (you mentioned user creations - as in - admin users or guest users?). If you want to use Cloudpath with Rucksu Cloud, Cloudpath allows APIs to create users today and they will work well with Ruckus Cloud.

I can't understand how a cloud product doesn't have APIs. APIs shouldn't be the frosting on the cake but the ingredients essential to a good cake.

Derek,

You are right. When we say APIs not available, they are there (both streaming and RESTful) but we are working to build the infrastructure around it so that customers and partners can use them and we are able to scale to help them with all the tooling and support they need to use them.

All the cloud Web UI and mobile app use the same APIs - so, every element (config, read, report, notifications...) are API driven. It is a matter of when we release them to the public (after building a solid support infrastructure around it). Stay tuned.

Do you have a release estimate. This thread is over a year old. We have a mutual customer and we support Zone Director and SmartZone but Cloud -- the newest product -- is the one that doesn't have the capabilities.

Thanks for asking!!!! The API that we require is: clients/_operations/get-clients-info2

which is used to populate the users view in Cloud.

I will add, we use the following interfaces on the other platforms:

On ZD: we use the CLI: wlaninfo -S -V
On SZ: we use the API: /operational/client

Everything is working great with the api's of ruckus cloud. We were able to integrate all our Wiflex.eu solution in it!

Just wonderinf whether this is still working for you. When I use the DPSK API, I get a 404 error. I have most of the other API's working. Just can't get the DPSK to work. Seems like it isn't set up on the Server end.

DPSK is working but it is not documented very well :-D. You also can use the web developer tool and see which api request the ui from Ruckus cloud is using

Just wanted to say thank you.

It seems I wasn't thorough enough as I completely missed the "-passphrase" in the Web developer tool. I spotted it this time after you mentioned it. And yeah, their documentation could use a little help, lol.

Just for anyone interested. I'm using this API with Google Apps Script.
I'm grabbing the Session User to look up who the person making a request is. Basically, they click a button and it checks to see if that person already has a key and displays it. If they don't, it creates one, and then displays it.
