How can i enable SNMP for the APs in the Cloudcontroller?

I have to enable SNMP for the APs in our Cloud Controller, but i cant find the Setting for this. Ping is working, but SNMP request not, so i think its disabled. Since the Firmware 200.1.9.12.62 MR SNMP is supported for Unleashed APs, so it should work.

Someone who can help me?

Dennis,

You will want to upgrade to 200.2 and download the SNMP Guide from our Support site to get SNMP traps up and running.

Hi Dan,

thank you for your replay, but I thought the APs upgrade automatically when they connect to the Cloud? How i can upgrade them manually? Where can i configure that it is allowed to manage them from other subnets?

Yes just click on the upgrade button and if you have Internet access it will upgrade to the newer release.

The APs have the Firmware 3.4.0.1.1390. Where i can get the SNMP Guide for the Ruckus Cloud? Can you post a link?

Well the first code release that you stated was for Unleashed, now it appears that you are using the Cloud with 3.4.x and for that you will need to call into our Support organization to see when SNMP will be supported in the Cloud offering.

Ok, that means not supported yet. Then i missunderstood the Release Notes. Ruckus Cloud is not useable at the moment....too many problems, too less Features vs Unleashed and Controllerbased. Thank you Dan.

:), thank you for following up. We have added webhook APIs, northbound integration to SFDC and ServiceNow (from RA incidents), and mobile app push as well as emails/SMSs, but haven't gotten to SNMP yet :). It is in the roadmap and we will get this in - as our MSP/SP customers are looking for SNMP gets/traps for integration into their management/NOC dashboards.

And now 2 years later and I'm looking for SNMP in ruckus.cloud and stumble upon this thread.

As you stated, MSP customers are looking for SNMP for integration into our customer facing reporting, management, and alerting tools. I took a customer with 100 Ubiquiti APs that supported SNMP to 200 Ruckus R650s that don't have this capability.

This is very disappointing, I may have to take them back to a vSZ so I can get this feature back.

Hi @jbrown,

Configuration of SNMP community strings on the Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi controller was not possible in the previous versions. However, this has been added and implemented in the latest Ruckus One.

Below is the snippet from the Release notes of the Ruckus One and the Release notes link.
AP SNMP support has been enabled in RUCKUS One for monitoring of network devices. RUCKUS APs now support SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 in read-only operation.

Thank you for writing to RUCKUS Support via FORUM.

SNMP can be enabled from RUCKUS ONE now. However, APs support SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 in read-only operation.

Please refer User Guide https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/4481-ruckus-one-online-help-user-guide page 549 & 551 to configure SNMP agent profile & page 210 for enabling in individual AP.

FYI - some consumer-grade SNMP agents, like Domotz or OvrC require you fill out 2 entries for read-only and read-write. Since this implenetation is limited to read-only, just enter the same info for both communities. It works fine. OvrC only supports SNMPv2, and Domotz works with both v2 and v3.
