change boot image in R500

ok , im into the CLI of a ruckus R500
it has 2 images inside :
1. an unleashed 200.x
2. a 100.x

the current startup image is set to image 2, connecting it to a zd1205, just continually gets firmware update loops.

if I can kick it BACK to the 200.x unleashed image , i have a migration path to get it intergrated wih the ZD 1200
I know my track works becasue i have taken other AP's this way today.

Don't bother telling me about "factory-reset" or 30-30-30, or anything else like that, IT DOES NOT WORK.
factory reset just resets the config but still uses the 100.x image.

What i need to do is get it switched back to the unleashed which is in image1

Hi Caveman,

Boot image cannot be changed from AP CLI.

Try to flash AP using below image.

If still you want to switch to Unleashed image, please flash the AP using Unleashed firmware.

No image will go in!!!!!!

After spending 8 hours up and down ladders 20 ft in the air at 40degC
, my mood is fairly combattive.

This "update" system has possibly got to be the dumbest system on the planet, for location of reset hole, device fixing & software update.

when i do a 30-30-30 or any other cli factory reset, the wifi point comes up in stand alone mode. (factory mode)

i can log into the front-end web gui
super/ sp-admin.... which is REAL flaky, sometimes it works most times not...
but i can CLI reliably every time using the same login.

This was a failed zd1200, that required some wifi points whilst being serviced.. hence the unleashed
when restoreing the unleashed, the firmware was flashed to all devices via the unleashed FW update.
I strongly suspect this was the old "master"

I can navigate via various menus.. but NOTHING shows a way to re-flash an image..... other wise i would have done it already......
Compared to another R500 with the same firmware, there seems LESS menus.

there are no network connection issues, & whilst working on this device it is 1:1 to my compuer.

so... i'm looking at this.

Ok.. may have it fixed........
Took it to the "park" outside... did a soft factory reset again... and NOW it comes up with extra menus.
one of which is "firmware update"

so it seems in some sort of /mesh/ control mode where it can "see" the other WIFI , limited the menus?

If ruckus does not get this crap fixed and get a more resonable system in place, without the need for stupid ladders & paperclips 20 ft up a ladder ,and a CLEAR & concise uptodate instruction system

I think we can say your company products are out for new installations!!!!!

Hi Caveman,

Once AP joins controller, firmware upgrade and other configuration options from AP GUI will not be available. This is as per design to prevent unwanted local upgrade/configuration which may cause outage.

In such conditions, you can always factory reset and upgrade the AP image using AP CLI (refer the article below).

To factory reset the AP, you can use below command.

set factory
reboot

You could also always open a case with support, if you are out of options and unable to fix the issue by your own.

Er...... there were no unleased points.. this last wifi to be migrated was the old master
and
"set factory"
"reboot"

would NOT work, the menues remaind the same, same with 30-30-30.
I clearly pointed this out in my first post.

once i took the wifi out of range of the other wifi, which were totally unconnected to it at this stage
only then did the "set factory" , "reboot" funnction & get back the missing " upgrade menu"

at this stage I could finally upload the firmware , that was needed
