Hi Friends,

I want to know whether is it possible to deploy multiple APs without controller and cloud management as Aruba has concept called IAP cluster in which one AP acts as a controller.

Ruckus have Unleashed AP's where one AP act as Master (controller) and other AP's are managed by it.

Sanjay Thank you for the quick info.

One more question actually we are recommending a customer with R720 wave 2 AP.
In this scenario i think we are not able to use this unleashed AP tech , So here we should go either with controller based or with cloud managed ? clarify me on this and let me know the licenses and subscription we need to take care along with these.

R720 is supported in the Unleashed platform. Please check the below release notes "Support platform" section for confirmation.

No license needs to be purchased when using unleashed for 50 or under 802.11ac wave 2 ap’s. ...

So here in R720 with unleashed mode we dont need licenses.

Do we need to order anything extra with R720 to work as unleashed AP or it will work fine just by upgrading it to unleashed OS.

HI Mallikarjun,

All you need is R720 APs with Unleashed firmware and you are good to go.

But we do recommend to purchase the support for Unleashed because, later on if you want to report any issue to Ruckus support and face any issue, support will not be able to help without Unleashed support.

Unleashed support SKU is just a single license you have to purchase and you can connected number of supported AP (per AP license not required).
