Hi Giles,

You can run the 7321 APs in a stand-alone mode using firmware 100.0.0.0.128. They don't support Unleashed as this OS was released after the 7321.

Perhaps consider the R500 platform if you think Unleashed would be a better fit for your deployment. Certainly if you have more than a handful of APs on the same site, then Unleashed will provide better performance and ease of management.

Thanks,
Darrel.
I am looking to buy some second hand ZoneFlex 7321 AP's, but my question is that you can use this as a standalone or unleashed AP, so without a ZoneDirector? Thanks!

Hi Gilles,

This will work as a standalone. Unleashed will NOT work.

If you want some sort of Unleashed support I would recommend R500 as a minimum WAP. If the area of coverage is small, R310 would do just fine.

On a side note, this is a 2.4 GHz ONLY, N-radio WAP. Unless you collect vintage stuff, this is not a great WAP compared to what is available on market today.

Cheers,
Alex
