Thank you! I have upgraded it to 8.1.1.0.12, rebooted and defaulted.
From log model is 2925 (see below).
The top line still 'Ruckus 2825 Multimedia Wireless Router' - this is not a big deal,
There is still no wlan configuration, and I see "Port Forwarding" instead of it - this is a problem!

I purchased on eBay zf2925 but in web GUI it appeares as 2825, so it does not have VLAN functionality that I need. Is it possible get it 2925? Or it has hardware from 2825?

The software version was 5.3.1.0.58 up to this moment. As I remember I upgraded it earlier. Now I have successfully upgraded it with local file 2925_4.2.0.0-132_Main.Bl7 that I had. Software version appears as 4.2.0.0.132 but the top line is "Ruckus 2825 Multimedia Wireless Router"

I can setup a little server of mine, that you can use to upgrade in steps, if you want to. My ZF2925 is all the way up to Software Version	8.1.1.0.12 now. After each upgrade I had to reboot the device to see if it was running the new version.

I'm not sure how it will respond if it thinks it is a 2825, but it might be worth a shot...

I'd think the 2825 is really a different device than the 2925, but you can give it a shot anyway. Try using one of these urls, see if it accepts it and upgrades, and remember to reboot after every reboot. Let me know how it goes.

Would you guys still have the 8.1.1.0.12 file for the ZF2925? I have been looking at the ruckus download site but all I can find for the zf2925 is the 4.1.0.96 and 4.2.0.0.132... go figure.

I have downloaded and applied 4.2.0.0.132, but I wonder why is that the latest on the site. Is it a case of a nomenclature change to version 4?

Thanks

I can find no official ZoneFlex 2925 AP directory in the firmware repository,
on any 8.1 release standalone AP firmware.

If you had a 2925 connected to a ZD1000 running 8.1.1.0.12, and then did
a factory default on the AP, it would be running 8.1.1.0.12.

Otherwise, only Ruckus Tech Support would know how to pull a supported
AP image out of a ZoneDirector firmware on a compatible version.

I suspect that 4.2.0.0.132 was the last officially 'stable/recommended' release
for the EoL zf2925 line.

The above attempts to change the middle 3 digits of AP control file will not help,
as the FTP server has been deprecated of 2925 code this long after the last fw
support date of December 31, 2010.

https://ruckus-support.s3.amazonaws.com/private/documents/115/end_of_life_announcement_zf2925.pdf?AW...

That's interesting. I still have these firmware files sitting in a folder, without fiddling with a ZD. I'm pretty sure I downloaded them from the Ruckus support site a while ago:

2925_5.0.3.0.199.Bl7

2925_6.0.3.0.21.Bl7

2925_7.0.1.0.3.Bl7

2925_7.1.0.0.39_FCS.Bl7

2925_8.0.2.0.7.Bl7

2925_8.1.1.0.12.Bl7

But maybe they never made it as stable?
