This is just bad UI showing what you’ve set as the default config for each type of access point. What you’re seeing is normal. It doesn’t mean the system thinks you have R670s.

Do you have access to a PoE switch to test with? I’ve had no issue running my R750 and R650 off a 2.5Gbps PoE managed switch.

(Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I tried 2 days ago and it still hasn't appeared.)

I have an R650 running Unleashed (200.17.7.0.139) that periodically renegotiates the uplink speed down to 100Mbps, where it sticks. My network is:
Router (1g port) -> generic unmanaged switch (2.5g) -> POE injector (Ruckus NPE5818) -> R650
PoE adapter has a 48v power supply, AP Operating Mode is set to 802.3at in the Ruckus dashboard
When the uplink negotiates down, the Dashboard/Ethernet Port Status for eth1 changes from 2500Mbps to 100Mbps
Cycling the switch power supply (the easiest way for me to force renegotiation) immediately returns speed to expected, and it stays there for anywhere from a few hours to a few days before dropping again.

Based on other answers here, I have replaced all the cables (all CAT 6e or CAT 7), and replaced the switch, with no change.

I've examined the logs, and while I don't understand evert\ything there I do see that at the time of the speed dropping, I have a handful of lines over a short period like the following:
Jan 19 20:17:30 RuckusAP kernel: [182922.157158] nss-dp 3a007000.dp3 eth1: PHY Link is down
followed a few lines later by
Jan 19 20:17:45 RuckusAP kernel: [182937.189082] nss-dp 3a007000.dp3 eth1: PHY Link up speed: 1000
but the *last* "Link is down" message was followed by
Jan 19 20:23:10 RuckusAP kernel: [183261.941081] nss-dp 3a007000.dp3 eth1: PHY Link up speed: 100

This sequence does not appear anywhere else in the logs, just when the speed drops, and is usually over a 5-10 minute period; after the drop to 100Mbps it remains stable until I get around to power cycling the switch again.

What is a reasonable next step in my diagnosis? I was thinking of trying powering the AP directly instead of by POE, but that requires me hauling my 70-year-old ass up a tall ladder so would prefer to try less physical things first.

What could be triggering the link down state? Can I ssh into the AP and turn off whatever is doing this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I still haven't solved this. I thought power might be the issue, I changed PoE injectors and if anything it is worse. One thing I noticed, when I choose "Access points" in the menu, if I select "Summary" then "Edit" then "Other" I see that the "Model Specific Control" is set for the R670, and have a "Not enough electricity power is provided to this AP" error. The error goes away if I switch to R650 and save, but after a while the system switches it back to R670. What is going on here?

It has been months since I raised this question, but I wanted to post how I finally resolved it, for anyone who stumbles across this. My cable routing had the ethernet cable running very close to, and crossing, over a power cable at one location; even the expensive well-shielded ethernet cable I switched to when trying to fix this was apparently not shielded enough for occasional surges on this power cable. (Our power here is very dirty; all electronics are on conditioners, but this power cable was unregulated.) Removing the power cable altogether completely resolved the problem, I've been running my AP now for two months without a slowdown or even a reboot.

During the diagnosis process I temporarily replaced the Ruckus with a Microtik AP I had lying around; it did not seem to be at all sensitive to the interference on the cable. I still feel like there must be a setting in software which can turn off the checking the AP does for line quality, or at least make it less frequent or more forgiving.

Anyway, many thanks for the help.
