topic 770 AP and Ruckus Licensing in general in Access Points - Indoor and Outdoor

Hi,

Sorry i am very new to ruckus, i just started looking at their products today. I have 4x aruba 555 access points in an instant ap config today. I am looking to upgrade to wifi7. I believe aruba no longer offers a local managed, no subscription based deployment. Essentially the 750s require aos 10 and I think that is aruba central managed only.

How does this work with ruckus 770? Is there a local cluster like option, can I run these aps with no license/subscription? Being a home user I need to avoid any form of re-occurring cost.

Hi,

You can upgrade the AP to unleashed firmware, which is mainly for home users and does not require any licenses.

RUCKUS Unleashed AP 200.16 (GA) Refresh Software for R770 | Software Downloads | Ruckus Wireless Support

You can also mesh the APs and manage using one single active AP, then multiple standby APs (just like a controller and AP).

Regards,

Yogesh G
