R710 cannot migrate from ZD3050 to sVZ 6.1.1

Hi to all, the title describes my problem... i have managed to migrate 21 r710 but one insists not to migrate... It starts to accept the firmware from the sVZ but fails... I manually flash the stand alone firmware and after that the ZD starts auto adoption and readopts it by flashing back the ZoneDirector firmware 10.1.1.0.42. Access point seems to work fine... any proposals?

Could you please do the hard-reset on the AP and upload the standalone version 114.0.0.0.6565 on the AP and use the below command to connect the AP on the vSZ.

#set scg IP <IP address of the controller>

Hi, thanks for your answer.. I think this was the version of stand alone I flashed. I will confirm to you . Also hard reset you mean the button? Isn't the same but giving set factory command? Because it is based at remote site and in a difficult place to access... Thanks

Hi @gsfakian

Looks like the AP is trying to connect to 10.50.49.3 but not able to reach to it. Can you confirm the standalone version the AP is on? Use the command "get version"

Can you try the below steps:
1. Disable the Auto Approve option on the ZD.
2. On the AP CLI, delete the ZD IP (if it holds the ZD IP in get director command) "set director ip delete"
3. Reboot the AP.
4. Set the SCG IP "set scg ip x.x.x.x"

If the AP is not coming up, then check below steps:
1. Make sure you have enough AP licenses on the SZ.
2. Disable ap-cert check on the controller using the command
#config
config#no ap-cert-check
config#end
3. This will allow the AP if it holds old AP certficate.

Since i flashed the stand alone firmware i isolated the ZD by disabling its switch port so no contact after then with the R710... Only sVZ is laying on the same L2 network...I also disabled the certificate check from sVZ. So here is the info you asked:

yes confirmed version 114.0.0.0.65565. Also sVZ and access point are on the same L2 network same VLAN and ping each other. I have isolated ZD by disabling its port so after flashing the AP , ZD is not reachable. I gave many times the command set scg ip and confirmed by get scg... Also disabled the cert check from controller's side...

From the GUI of AP i saw certificate validation failed and from there i generated a request which sent to Ruckus, today i received the .res file, uploaded from GUI it shows that it will reboot automatically but nothing happens... here are the latest logs again...

Most of the basic steps are already checked. I believe it is best to open the Support case so that we can check the logs and see what is going on.

I had already opened a case.. and finally problem solved. Ruckus support rocks!.. The problem was that the certificate file was completely missing from the AP and it was not possible to upload it from GUI. It was showing that the procedure was done but nothing happened in the end. So the solution was to "feed" manualy firmware 6.1.1.0.1274 which probably contains certificate and after that controller adopted it!..
