Strange issue with ZoneFlex 7363

Hello,

When I'm using my home router as a AP and when I'm connected to it and using Hik-Connect app on which is set public IP (which ISP assign to me) and the port which the IP camera use, there is no issue and I can see it, but when I stop the wireless network on my home router and connect to it the Ruckus AP, after that I connect to Ruckus AP and using Hik-Connect app with same setting as above I cannot see the IP camera.

I can see it only when I set the private IP which is assigned to the IP camera in Hik-Connect app.

Could you please help me to solve this issue?

Hi Nikolay,

Please go to WLAN advanced settings and se the directed multicast to "0".

Your camera mostly using MDN based device discovery.

By default, Ruckus APs convert multicast packets to unicast but not all devices like it, thus you may have device/service discovery issues. Disabling multicast conversion should probably fix the issue.

I checked, but I have only disable/enable option on this.

I already disabled the "Directed Multicast" but the situation is same.

@nikolay_danev could you run below command and check the QOS settings on eth interface?

get eth (this will tell you which port is uplink for the AP)

get qos ethx (depending upon the output of get eth, run this command with correct port number. Ex: get qos eth0 or get qos eth1)

@nikolay_danev directed multicast on eth0 port is enabled.

Disable it and see if that fixes your issue.

I think these are all the configuration related suggestion I can think of.

Beyond this point, I think you have to open a case with support and let them check the issue further.

If you want to continue without opening a support case, next step is to take packet captures on APs wifix interface and on APs eth interface at the same time.

Use wireshark remote interface option to take capture directly from AP.

Src address 192.168.0.10 is the address assigned to my mobile phone.

Dst Address 192.168.0.150 is the address assigned to IP camera.

Looks like IP camera is resetting the TCP session.

On a side note, capture seems not complete, all I see is TCP packets and no mdns traffic.

Do you know what protocol this IP camera uses for service/device discovery?

In that case, it is bit hard to find out what is causing the issue.

One thing I am sure of, camera is sending TCP RST packets, which means TCP 3 way handshake needs to be done again.

If I look at the destination port, it is TCP port 8005 and it is used for a Windows System Process.

I will try to ask the manufacturer about what protocol the IP camera uses for service/device discovery.

TCP port 8005 is server port and is using by the Hik-Connect app to run the camera.
